level 3 friend

Being known changes everything

You can know a lot of people and still wonder who really knows you.

Who knows what you’re carrying? Who celebrates your progress? Who can you be honest with—and who feels comfortable being honest with you?

A Level 3 Friend is a soul-level friend: someone you know deeply and who deeply knows you. A friendship built through mutual curiosity, trust, and regular, face-to-face time.

I help individuals and groups take practical steps toward these meaningful friendships.

Why deeper friendship matters

Work. Family. Responsibilities. Life can be full while meaningful friendship keeps getting pushed to “someday.”

You may have people to spend time with, yet hesitate when someone asks, “Who do you turn to when life gets difficult?”

You’re not alone. A 2023 federal advisory reported that approximately half of U.S. adults experienced measurable loneliness even before the pandemic. Harvard’s long-running Study of Adult Development also connects the quality of our relationships with greater happiness and better health.

Friendship deserves our attention.

Deep friendships give us people with whom we can share our questions, disappointments, hopes, and everyday lives. They make room for encouragement, honest feedback, and mutual support.

You deserve to be known. And you can become the kind of friend who helps someone else feel known, too.

What makes a friendship Level 3?

Every friendship has value. Some begin with a shared setting. Others grow through common interests and experiences. A few develop into relationships where we can share more of who we really are.

Level 3 friendship includes:

  • Mutual curiosity: We ask, listen, and make room for each other’s stories.

  • Leaning in: Soul level communication. Secrets are known.

  • Honesty: We can talk about struggles as well as successes.

  • Consistency: We make time to meet regularly, face-to-face.

  • Reciprocity: Both people contribute, initiate, and receive support.

Depth develops over time. It grows through small invitations, thoughtful questions, shared experiences, and the choice to keep showing up.
